Financial Aid

The Start Strong Center is here to help you find the financial assistance you need to attend college. We have information on grants, scholarships, work study programs and, if needed, loans. We help you meet deadlines and resolve any financial issues you might encounter while you’re in college.

For a full-time, in-state student, Pellissippi State’s tuition is about $2,090 per semester. For more information about tuition and fees, visit Student Account Services. Remember that you can check your financial aid awards plus any requirements or deadlines in myPellissippi.

Students with disabilities can request aid or other services during the enrollment process through Disability Services. Disability Services also helps students with accommodations and aid in the classroom and around campus.

Information

This sequence can be followed by students who begin college-level work in the fall semester. Prerequisites may apply to specific courses; it is the student’s responsibility to determine if prerequisites have been met. An academic advisor is provided for each student. Prior to registering each semester, the student is expected to consult with his/her assigned advisor.

Selecting A Major

Selecting a major is one of the most important decisions you’ll make, as federal financial aid is now tied to classes you take in your course of study. At Pellissippi State, we have dozens of options, so let’s look at your end goal. Do you want to enter the workforce at the end of your program, transfer to a four-year college or improve a skill?

Flexibility for Your Schedule

  • Five campuses in Knox and Blount counties: Blount County, Division Street, Hardin Valley, Magnolia Avenue and Strawberry Plains
  • Daytime and evening classes
  • Cohorts in which you progress through a degree program as a group, often at an accelerated pace.
  • Online and hybrid classes

For entering the workforce directly after graduating or, in some majors, going on for a four-year degree.

Financial Aid Checklist for International Students

Non-via students: please follow the Financial Aid checklist above.

F-1 visa holders do not qualify for federal financial aid. However, you will be eligible to apply for scholarships after your first semester of coursework is completed.

All students — even those who don’t receive financial aid — are responsible for paying Pellissippi State tuition and fees by our deadlines, or risk having their schedules deleted. Tuition and fees are paid to Student Account Services.
